At Milton Town Council on April 15th council reviewed a zoning by-law amendment by the developer of the three story condo complex at the South East corner of Derry & Ontario Street. The developer was requesting both a re-introduction of a three-storey 27-unit stacked townhouse complex beside the 14, 20 and 25 storey buildings currently being constructed as well as a reduction on the number of visitor parking spaces for for the overall development.

Milton and Halton region in general have long stood against the proposed CN intermodal yard, a project under heavy scrutiny since 2015. While recognizing the importance of intermodal transportation in the national supply chain, our community’s opposition stems from the proposed yard’s dangerous and unprecedented location, which according to the environmental impact assessment agency’s findings, presents significant adverse environmental effects and unmitigable risks to human health.

Every first Thursday of the month Milton Grace Anglican Church hosts a free Milton Community Dinner that all residents are welcome to join in. It’s in the spirit of human fellowship coming together over a home cooked meal. Each month a different group of volunteers helps prepare and serve the meal. March’s meal was prepared by volunteers from the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary The food for the meal was donated by Food for Life.

My primary responsibility as your Member of Parliament is to help my neighbours and our community here in Milton. We know that Canadians pay too much for their medication, and that we are the only country in the world with universal health care, but no universal drug coverage. I’ve always been an advocate for a National Pharmacare program, so I’m proud that our government has launched the first step toward comprehensive coverage – with broad support for contraception and diabetes medications.

Walk in Milton

March 8, 2024 is International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. This day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity. On this day CFUW (Canadian Federation of University Women) Milton organized their annual Women’s Day Walk along Main Street in downtown Milton.
