Miltonian Darren Lee Wo won the Cadet-of-the-Year Award presented to the Top Air Cadet for Leadership in Ontario. Darren said: “I felt honoured to be recognized for what I have been able to do, however I also feel like there should be many more opportunities for other Cadets to be recognized for the work that they do and their excellence!”
Despite the rainy weather, hundreds of volunteers from all walks of life gathered on April 27 for the annual Milton Good Neighbours Day, a community clean-up event aimed at tidying up Milton. Braving the elements, participants armed themselves with gloves, garbage bags, and an unwavering commitment to making their town a cleaner and greener place to live.

Visits Milton to listen to residents
Ontario Liberal Party Leader Bonnie Crombie visited Coffee Culture in Milton in April to hear from Milton residents on what issues matter to them. People talked about community safety, all Day GO Transit, Autism Funding, education and Healthcare as well as affordable housing. It was a broad conversation about both local and provincial issues. She was joined by Milton OLP Candidate Galen Naidoo Harris who was there both to listen to residents as well as give his own feedback.
The Milton Rotary Spring Gala occurred on April 13th in Milton. Miltonians enjoyed a three course meal with beverages along with the sweet sounds of Milton’s own live band, the Groovy Brothers. The sit-down dinner had a Hawaiian Luau theme with Lai’s provided to all guests upon entrance. The night of food and fun was in support of two worthy local causes: Townsend Smith Foundation Hospice and Darling Home for Kids.
Longtime residents of Milton have fond memories of idyllic times choosing a pumpkin or picking strawberries and other fruits and flowers at Andrews Scenic Acres on 10th Side road in Halton Hills.

This year on On Good Friday local Milton churches – Milton Knox Presbyterian Church, Grace Church,and St. Paul’s United Community of Faith – organized the Carrying of the Cross inviting all residents to attend.
Sikh Heritage Month was offcially proclaimed at Milton Town Hall with Mayor Krantz on behalf of the town. Gurmail S Saggu helped and local Milton and Halton residents and groups helped organize the event with volunteers and Milton Town Staff. Many dignitaries were there with a large audience of Milton Sikh residents as well as guests from surrounding areas. Guests were also served with tea, samosas, tim bits and sweet desserts.
A Muslim, Jew, Christian and Hindu walk into the Milton connect centre together…… Sounds like I’m about to make a joke. But it’s actually part of the Milton Muslim Moms Inter-Faith Iftar Dinner. Bringing solidarity, unity and inclusiveness to Milton.
