On February 22nd at the Connect Centre in Milton the Women Empowerment Alliance held their annual Women’s day celebration. It’s main purpose was to recognize and appreciate the hardworking women who manage businesses and actively contribute to the community.
While the event is held in Milton each year, the full name of the group is Women Empowerment Alliance GTA (Greater Toronto Area) and that was in ample display with women being acknowledged for their achievements and hard work in Milton and surrounding areas.
The Alliance also presented a $1000 cheque to Milton District Hospital Foundation to help in the purchase of essential medical equipment.
To organizer Kanwal Waseem, this was not just an event; it was a mission. “My true purpose was not just to host an event, but to see the happiness on the faces of those who were recognized. Their smiles were my greatest success. When hard work is appreciated, it doesn’t just uplift one person – it inspires an entire community,” said Kanwal.
