On February 17th, Troy Newton one of Milton’s long time business owners and community supporter lost his wife Angie Ritchie to her battle with cancer.
On February 22nd at the Connect Centre in Milton the Women Empowerment Alliance held their annual Women’s day celebration. It’s main purpose was to recognize and appreciate the hardworking women who manage businesses and actively contribute to the community.

The 100 Women Who Care Milton had their first meeting for 2025 in late January. They are a fundraising group that
was established in 2016 by a group of women who come together 4 times a year, each donating $100 per meeting, $400 annually to support local charities.
If you’ve ever walked through Milton with Kristina Tesser Derksen, you know she’s someone people stop to say hi to. A lifelong Milton resident, Kristina and her husband Chris have built their lives here— raising their four kids, running small businesses, and giving back to the community.
In January the Alzheimer Society of Brant, Haldimand Norfolk, Hamilton and Halton held a round table discussion that helped highlight the importance of advocacy, community support and care for those diagnosed with dementia. The roundtable included some extraordinary ladies that have been diagnosed with Dementia.
On February 6th in Milton local MP Adam van Koeverden along with Halton Scotch Whiskey Society held a taste testing of a curated fight of whiskeys form across Canada. The showcase was meant to highlight many quality
Canadian whiskeys as a way to find local alternatives to American Bourbons and whiskeys. The cost was $60 per person which included both food as well as the flight of 5 different Canadian Whiskeys from coast to coast.
Optometry on Bronte is a reputable,state-of-the-art eye care centre,serving the Milton community since 2008.
The Coldest Night of the Year walk has been celebrated in Canada since 2011. It’s aim is for to bring together family and friends to raise money for the hungry, homeless and hurting in 65 communities across Canada.
On January 25th the Milton Chinese Canadian Association (MCCA) held their 2025 Lunar New Year Celebration at the Milton Mall. It included live music and dances as well as a Dragon display.
