The Coldest Night of the Year walk has been celebrated in Canada since 2011. It’s aim is for to bring together family and friends to raise money for the hungry, homeless and hurting in 65 communities across Canada.
In Milton on February 22nd there will be two great local organizations taking part that all Milton residents can come
out to support either as a walker or a donor.
RE:SOUL Youth Centre (yfcmilton. com) which is Milton’s only dedicated
youth drop-in centre, serving youth from grades 6-12. All their drop-in services are free & everyone is welcome.
Milton Transitional Housing (MTH) which provides safe, subsidized transitional housing to individuals and families in crisis. They offer hope and work to help clients graduate to independent living by overcoming the challenges that prevent them from securing & maintaining an affordable home.
Coldest Night of the Year Day provides participants the opportunity to experience some of the challenges the homeless face and the importance of community support. Through RE:SOUL it also gives participants away to make an impact in the lives of Milton Youth from all backgrounds. Letting young people know they are
incredible human beings.
There is still time to sign-up to participate for the February 22nd walks, either as a donor or a walker. To learn more about the RE:SOUL walk visit cnoy.org/location/ miltonthompsonroad To learn more about the Milton Transtional Housing walk visit cnoymilton.ca
