The local Milton Alumni of NED University of Engineering & Technology (Pakistan) held an Eid Milan party on May 2nd at Chef Kauser Autaq Banquet Hall. The reunion saw NEDians mingling and welcoming guests from Milton
and the surrounding area. All swept up in the festive spirit of Eid, the attendees donned their colorful traditional attire, thereby accentuating the culture-rich tapestry.
Between April 28 to May 4th all the proceeds of Smile Cookies at Milton’s Tim Horton’s went to our local Milton Hospital. Milton residents throughout the town volunteered at participating Tim Horton’s to help decorate the cookies.
The Halton Fashion Show a charity event for Milton District Hospital Foundation is having their annual event on May 3rd. They recently made a $3500 donation to the hospital for last year’s annual show. On March 31st six Milton residents received the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition to their contributions that have helped enrich the Milton community and help build a stronger, more inclusive society. The award winners included Don Noel Dsouza, Brian Penman, Masood Pehlvi, Bob Elliot, Stacey Newman and Donna Danielli.
Faiza H Pirmohamed and her family moved to Milton during the middle of COVID. They quicky appreciated the greenery and conservation areas and it helped her gain a much needed-connection with nature. She decided to write stories for her own children regarding selfworth and well-being. A friend of hers took note of the first book and felt it would be best shared with a wider audience. This started Faiza on her book publishing journey.
On April10th at the Milton Freshco the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation presented a $75,000 cheque for the local food banks – Muslim Association of Milton Food Bank, Khi Milton (Salvation Army), Food for Life, Food4Kids Halton and Milton Halal Food Bank.
On April 2, Gurdwara Singh Sabha Milton, in partnership with the Milton Sikh Society and Milton Punjabi Community Club, hosted a heartfelt community ceremony in recognition of Sikh Heritage Month. Held in the heart of Milton, the event brought together residents, local dignitaries, and families to honour the Sikh community’s contributions to Canadian society.
