Teeing Off For a Miracle marked its sixth anniversary on Friday June 14, 2019. The tournament hosted by the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) is in support of the annual Miracle on Main St. This year’s edition was held at Granite Ridge Golf Tournament, and raised $100,000 that will be used in support of charity.

Corrections Officers at MapleHurst Detention Centre spent 24 hours out in the cold on February 19 to raise $3700. The efforts were part of a fundraiser for Halton Women’s Place, and to raise awareness of homelessness.
Milton’s Ahmadiyya Muslims have a pathway to peace. Th ey unveiled it at a Dinner for Muslims event January 23, 2019 at Paramount Fine Foods. “We’re reaching out to the community and giving them an opportunity to learn about Islam. What better way to do that than enjoying a delicious meal together,” Advocacy Director Maqbool Sheikh said.
The red carpet was rolled out for Milton’s movie lovers January 25-27 for Milton’s sixth annual film festival. January 25, 2019 marked one of two galas with Colette, a movie starring Keira Knightley and Dominic West.
Food, clothes, and jewelry came together at Winter Fest 2019. The networking event organized by Events Ontario’s Ayeesha Naeem and Yasmeena Menon brought together a wide variety of businesses for an afternoon of networking and workshops.
Winter Fest started in 2016, as a smaller event organized a wintry evening in December. “We had a lot of vendors that said you know what? In winter we really don’t have much to do, we don’t mind being part of the team,” Menon explained. The workshops developed as a way to support their vendors, and keeping people interested. “These businesses need support, so that’s how we do business coaching for them,” she said. They teach everything from how to advertise, to how to properly do their taxes.
