Canadian Indian Association celebrates India’s 70th Republic Day in Milton On Saturday January 26th the Canadian Indian Association held a celebration for India’s 70th Republic Day. Th e event had a great turn out of community members, volunteers, organizers and talented local dancers and singers.
Christmas is a time to give back to the community. The federal New Democratic Party (NDP) in Milton marked its third annual Toy drive on December 16, 2018 at the Brown Pepper Grill.
Author Diksha Pal Narayan has released her second children’s book with a continued focus on simplifying Hindu customs and popular festivals for young children. A follow up to “Ved and Friends Celebrate Dussehra and Diwali,” Pal Narayan’s second book is entitled “Ved’s Little Book on Devotion.” The book came together quickly – Pal Narayan began writing it in early spring of 2018.
The Milton Players 2018/2019 Season Kick-Off event on September 14th was (not surprisingly) full of vibrant personalities. Guests included a collection of theatre buffs including actors, directors, producers and volunteers.
The Townsend-Smith Foundation held its first annual Hike for Hospice May 26 at Milton Community Park. The event kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with registration, face painting, a photo booth, and a clown.
On April 18 at the Milton Education Village Innovation Centre the Ontario government gave final approval and financial support to expand access to post-secondary education in the Town of Milton and surrounding region.
Outside January 6, 2018 was one of the coldest winter days so far this year. Inside the gym at the E.C. Drury School for the Deaf Sports Complex people turned their minds to cricket, and preparing for the upcoming season.

Students, and teachers at Milton District High School offered Miltonians a taste of their community April 6, 2017. Local Milton restaurants were invited to participate in the eighth annual Taste of Milton fundraiser for the school’s programs.
The Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation (TJSF) is pleased to announce it has donated $14,000 to the Halton Learning Foundation (HLF) and asked the funds be directed to four elementary and two high schools in Milton in support of school initiatives such as mental health, breakfast programs, literacy and inclusive classrooms.
