On Sunday July 30th the Italian Canadian Club of Milton (ICCM) held a special presentation to both celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary as well as show its collective gratitude and recognition for its longest standing board held at Italian Canadian Club of Milton member, Charlie Vizzini, who has retired from the ICCM board after many years of service and dedication.

Despite an afternoon downpour that opened the clouds and turned the skies grey, the sun arrived just in time for Milton’s Ice Cream Social on July 27th in Victoria Park outside the Town Hall.

On Saturday July 22, the Muslim Association of Milton (MAM) held its 9th annual BBQ and fundraising event at the grounds of the Croatian Club on Thompson Road. The first BBQ event started out 9 years ago as a way for the Muslim community to connect with the general Milton community.

The Milton Farmers’ Market is one of the only Ontario Farmers’ Markets where the street is closed down and pedestrians are free to stroll and visit with local vendors and businesses.

2017 marks Canada’s 150th birthday, and Milton’s 160th birthday. The Islamic Cultural Centre of Milton (ICCM) wanted to mark both occasions, and the end of Ramadan. They held a fun fair July 15, 2017 in the afternoon. “All we want to give to the community is fun.
The outlines were made on the pitch, the wickets firmly planted in the ground. Cricket returned July 8 for a second year at Sherwood Park. Events Ontario opened its season July 8, 2017 at Sherwood Park with a day of softball cricket.

On the evening of Friday, July 21st, Main Street on Milton was transformed into a historical trip down memory lane showcasing over 150 classic cars that lined the boulevards. With live entertainment by Rolly Rocker & the HEMI Heads the much-anticipated annual event was a great success garnering a huge crowd of around 35,000 people from Milton and beyond.

The Milton Canada Day Committee exceeded expectations on Canada’s 150th Birthday, which also coincided with Milton’s 160th. The festivities at the fairgrounds were better than ever! The fair-weather day did not discourage Miltonians, who lined up an hour before the day’s events were set to begin.

In mid June we welcomed a long-awaited summer, as well as the kick off of Milton’s newest patio party! Music at the Escarpment is organized by DC Inc. Live Events and is hosted by the Italian Canadian Club of Milton on Tremaine Road.
