On October 2nd the Milton created “Everyday Heroes” calendars go on sale for $10 where 50% of the proceeds will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Canada and the remainder going to charities chosen between Halton Regional Police and Firefighters Without Borders.
On September 16th the Halton Gujarati Samaj (HGS) presented their annual “Navratri extravaganza” in Milton at Bishop Reding High School with a great event called “Garba Ni Raat” event which translates literally into “dance night”. This Hindu festival helps honour Durga the goddess of strength.
It’s back! Milton will once again hear the moans of vampires and chills of fright as it braces itself for the 8th annual Milton Haunted House held inside Milton Mall.
The Milton NDP Riding Association hosted its annual public barbecue on Saturday August 12 in Beaty Neighbourhood park. This family event included everything from tasty BBQ chicken and hotdogs, activities for children and speeches from leadership.
On July 29, hundreds of Halton residents flocked to Victoria Park in Milton to join Halton MPP, Indira Naidoo-Harris at her annual community BBQ celebrating Ontario and Canada’s 150th birthdays.
The Milton Haunted House Committee was happy to present a cheque of $11,327 to Milton District Hospital Foundation on August 18th representing the net total funds given the hospital from the previous campaign year.
At age 164, Milton Fall Fair is older than the town itself at 160. It’s become a fall tradition for many families, and a regular stop for area schools. Every year it offers new, and exciting exhibits, and shows. 2017 is no exception. The fair is held September 22-24 at the Milton Fair Grounds.
Event organizer and Canadian Indian Association member Hassu Bihari dreamed of a celebration in which “all Indian community members come together to Celebrate India’s 70th Independence Day under one roof.”

Milton’s Pakistani Community turned out in their patriotic green and white to mark Pakistan’s 70th anniversary. The festivities took place at the Milton Sports Centre August 12, two days before Pakistan Day. The evening was arranged by the Canadian Pakistani Association of Halton (CPAH).
