On July 29, hundreds of Halton residents flocked to Victoria Park in Milton to join Halton MPP, Indira Naidoo-Harris at her annual community BBQ celebrating Ontario and Canada’s 150th birthdays.

This year, along with free burgers and hotdogs, residents got a taste of some amazing local talent with performances from local singers and dancers. Milton Mayor Gord Krantz Krantz joined NaidooHarris on stage to welcome participants and wish Canada, Ontario and Milton a happy birthday.

The BBQ, which Naidoo-Harris hosts every year, is a way to bring community members together in celebration and in friendship. “This is what it’s all about. Coming together as friends and neighbours to celebrate the wonderful place we get to call home,” said Naidoo-Harris during her speech to the crowd. “I’m so proud to live in Halton, a community and region that is thriving in healthcare and in education, paving the way for a better future for our children.”

Naidoo-Harris spoke about Halton and the major infrastructure investments Milton & Halton are seeing over the next few years with the upcoming opening of the highly anticipated Milton District Hospital Expansion and the recently announced Halton Courthouse and Milton University site.
