It may not have had fireworks or been at the Milton Fairgrounds this year. But Milton still celebrated Canada Day in style on July 1st at Victoria Park by Milton Town Hall. The Town of Milton provided the venue while the Milton Knights of Columbus provided much of the labour force.
Milton residents were invited to a Veterans Breakfast early in the morning followed by live music entertainment by “That Band”. Over 600 pieces of free cake were served and 200 Canada Day Flags as well as 200 Canada Day pins were handed out to attendees. Sneezy the Clown spent the morning creating balloon animals at request for children who were present. Volunteers also distributed free bubble wand toys to Milton youth.

Local Milton Singer Rob Hewlett led Miltonians in singing Canada’s National Anthem with the presenting sponsor Tiger Jeet Singh Jr. gave a heart warming speech about what it means to be Canadian.
“Volunteerism and Canadiana were hand in hand with Milton coming together to ensure we had a free and
public Canada Day!” said this year’s Milton Knights Canada Day Chair Rick Di Lorenzo.
“Thank you Milton Knights of Columbus for putting up with me and me sometimes asking for forgiveness rather than permission. It was a concerted effort with the Milton Knights, Milton Catholic Women’s League and the Milton Legion as well as many individual volunteers and groups coming together with the one goal of ensuring we had a successful and joyous Milton Canada Day”
