Milton Ganpati Visarjan Utsav was recently organized by VHP, MMG and Hindu SwayamSevak Sangh at the Milton fairgrounds on September 16th.
Run for Milton is a charity run/walk even that embraces the Milton community and provides financial support to Milton District Hospital Foundation. It’s organized by the Milton Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association. Their goal is to help the local community and be there for the people who are in need. MP Adam van Koeverden led the race attendees while carrying the Canadian Flag to the start of the race, it’s been an annual tradition of his participating in the race for many years now.
I SKCON Milton hosted a vibrant Janmashtami celebration, honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, who appeared over 5,250 years ago. The festival began with a special Mangala Aarti at 5 AM, setting the tone for a day filled with spiritual activities.
The 10th Annual All For One Survivors Foundation Golf Tournament took part at Granite Ridge on August 25th. To date, the “All for One Survivors Foundation” has donated over $105,000.00 to assist with cancer patients their
transportation programs to assist getting to and from treatments. They have also continued to make financial contributions to Milton District Hospital Foundation for the purchase of critical medical equipment.
Arts Milton’s Ontario Culture Days are in full swing, and this year’s theme, World Dance, has already brought a vibrant cultural exchange to the community. The World Dance Collaboration, which took place on September 21st, featured a stunning fusion of Ballet, Bhangra, and Bharatanatyam, combining ballet’s elegance with Bhangra’s vibrant energy and Bharatanatyam’s expressive storytelling.
On September 18th, the Milton Sea Cadets performed a Change of Command Ceremony at their local headquarters, at the Milton Fairgrounds. Lieutenant(N) Andrew Townley commanded the Royal Canadian Se Cadets Corps CHAUDIERE for the past 3 years; and as he now completed his term, he passed command to his former Executive Officer, Lieutenant(N) Paul Simas, who is now the new Commanding Officer.
On July 20th at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #136 in Milton the Legion and it’s volunteers hosted a community breakfast upstairs to help raise funds for their Legacy of Honour Banner program.
On Sunday August 18th the Milton Charity Poker Run was held raising funds for Milton District Hospital Foundation. The run attracts Motorcycle riders from all over Ontario that come to Milton and register for a scenic ride that starts by Halton Auto Service & Transmission and ends at the Halton Sportmen’s Club where participants enjoy a steak dinner and live entertainment.
Rotary District 7080 proudly presents its Annual District Conference to be held on Oct 5th, 2024, at the FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton. This year’s theme, “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Beyond,” aligns with Rotary International’s “The Magic of Rotary” and promises an unforgettable experience.
