I SKCON Milton hosted a vibrant Janmashtami celebration, honoring the birth of Lord Krishna, who appeared over 5,250 years ago. The festival began with a special Mangala Aarti at 5 AM, setting the tone for a day filled with spiritual activities.

Devotees gathered in large numbers to participate in Kirtan (chanting), Aarti (ceremonial worship), and Abhishek (the bathing of Lord Krishna), where ‘Kalash’ sponsors had the opportunity to personally bathe the deity. The devotional fervor continued with discourses and cultural programs, including traditional dance and drama
performances, which beautifully depicted the pastimes of Lord Krishna. The event culminated in a grand veg-etarian feast, offered t o a ll i n a ttendance, in line with ISKCON’s tradition of sharing prasadam (sanctified food) with the community. Attendees included MP Adam van Koeverden, Councillor Kristina Tesser Derksen, Rick Di Lorenzo, and Galen Naidoo Harris, who joined in the celebration alongside ISKCON congregation members and the wider Hindu community. ISKCON Milton is part of a global network of centers inspired by Srila Prabhupada, founder of the Hare Krishna movement. The t emple a lso hosts its weekly “Sunday Love Feast,” welcoming the community for spiritual discourse, music, chanting, and a multicourse vegetarian feast.
