Pete McMullen was a pioneer in Milton for his work in local baseball and hockey. He was instrumental in founding Milton minor baseball and hockey and held leadership positions in both. He was previously inducted into the Milton Sports Hall of Fame as well as Town Hall’s Walk of Fame.
On May 30th at Milton Town Hall acting Mayor Sarah Marshall joined Prism (Halton’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Group) in raising the Pride Flag. Sheena Drennan was recognized by the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary for 65 years of service. She received the Rita Ward award and 65-year pin. Below are her own words.
“How is it possible 65 years have gone by when all this time I have enjoyed working along with the kindest, most caring and dedicated volunteers to provide excellent patient care and raise funds to purchase much needed equipment. “
Tim Horton’s in Milton set records this year raising over $96,000 for Milton District Hospital Foundation in their annual Smile Cookie Campaign.
Thank you to the countless volunteers, community groups, Milton Tim Horton employees and Milton residents who purchased a record number of cookies this year!
The 2nd Annual EidFest was held on June 14th at Islamic Community Centre of Milton (ICCM) and was an unforgettable day of family friendly activities to celebrate the joy of Eid.
With regret, the Halton Agricultural Society (HAS) has announced that it will not be hosting the Canada Day celebration at the Milton Fairgrounds this year, due to financial shortfalls and a decline in volunteer availability. However, the celebration will continue at Victoria Park and HAS remains committed to supporting the event. They are also exploring options to return to the Milton Fairgrounds in 2026.
The Halton Fashion Show, held in Milton, proudly celebrated its third edition with elegance and heart. Organized around a meaningful Mother’s Day theme, the event supported the Milton District Hospital Foundation, blending
fashion, music, and community for a powerful cause. The runway featured four talented designers who presented breathtaking collections of couture gowns, wedding dresses, long elegant looks, and chic casual outfits. The evening also spotlighted new artistic talent, with performances by emerging singers that added depth and emotion to the experience.
10th Anniversary of the Milton Victorian Tea occurred at Country Hertiage Park on May 2nd with capacity attendance of over 250 people. Those that attended experienced tea served on vintage place settings, plus music and entertainment throughout the afternoon. It was a wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends and family, and also help support Pack a Bag for a Friend in 2025.
Milton Bishop Reding (BR) Catholic Secondary School raised a stunning $133,856.13 on May 8th for the Milton Relay For Life. The money raised will help fund world-class cancer research in Canada as well as advocacy and compassionate support. This year BR raised the highest amount in all of Ontario.
Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN) Legacy Honours “An Unforgettable Evening with the Honourable Lisa Raitt and Honouree Ken Hartwick” was held in Milton on May 1st at Granite Ridge Golf Course. It was a fundraiser to help build an endowment fund for our future Hospice (Townsend Smith Foundation).
