Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN) Legacy Honours “An Unforgettable Evening with the Honourable Lisa Raitt and Honouree Ken Hartwick” was held in Milton on May 1st at Granite Ridge Golf Course. It was a fundraiser to help build an endowment fund for our future Hospice (Townsend Smith Foundation).
“CFHN is different and gaining popularity. Why? It’s different because its donors and local volunteers direct long term funds annually in the community providing care-free philanthropy flexible enough for any and all charities.” says Darryl Demille, who along with the Honourable Lisa Raitt helped bring this event together.

Some in Milton might not know Miltonian Ken Hartwick. He has been a transformative leader as President and CEO of Ontario Power Generation. Under his watch they released their first-ever Climate Change Plan as well as Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan. He has coached boys and girls hockey teams in Milton and has been active through his family’s church and local Milton charities.

Mr. Hartwick and Mrs. Raitt helped keep the night lively with riffs on the Maple Leafs, elections, politics and many other verbal japs and ripostes that kept people both informed and laughing, as they spoke about building an endowment fund to support a Hospice in North Halton.
