With regret, the Halton Agricultural Society (HAS) has announced that it will not be hosting the Canada Day celebration at the Milton Fairgrounds this year, due to financial shortfalls and a decline in volunteer availability. However, the celebration will continue at Victoria Park and HAS remains committed to supporting the event. They are also exploring options to return to the Milton Fairgrounds in 2026.

“This fall, we will be reaching out to the community in hopes of building new partnerships with local
organizations and welcoming more volunteers, with the goal of returning stronger for Canada Day 2026.”

— Board of Directors, Halton Agricultural SocietyThe Milton Knights of Columbus, in partnership with HAS and Royal Canadian Legion Branch #136, will host this year’s celebration at Victoria Park (43 Brown Street) on July 1st from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“When HAS informed me that Canada Day could not be held at the Fairgrounds, I quickly reached out to my fellow Knights to see if we could expand our Veterans Breakfast to include the Milton Canada Day cake and live music. I was appointed the 2025 Canada Day Chair for the Knights and asked to work with partner groups and raise the necessary funds. Regional Councillor Sameera Ali has been instrumental in supporting us—serving as liaison with the Town and Region and taking on additional responsibilities.”

The schedule includes:
• Canada Day Breakfast from 9:00– 11:00 a.m. (free for veterans)
• National Anthem and Live Music by that Band 11:00 a.m. to 12:30
• Cake Cutting and Serving 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
• At 1:00 p.m., celebrations will continue at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 136 (21 Charles Street), a short walk from the park.
Rick Di Lorenzo also extends thanks to the Tiger Jeet Singh Foundation for generously contributing to this year’s Canada Day expenses. Additional sponsors are also shown on this and the next page. Let’s come together and celebrate Canada Day in the heart of Milton!
