Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF) has welcomed Katie McMillan as its new Executive Director. Katie brings a rich tapestry of experience rooted in her belief that philanthropy plays a vital role in exceptional and compassionate care. e Board of Directors of MDHF have expressed their utmost confidence in Katie’s leadership, which rejects a dedication to fostering connections and addressing the unique needs of our community. To help introduce the community to Katie, here are three fun tidbits to know about her:

1. On weekends, you’ll nd Katie cheering on her sons at Mississauga Hockey arenas, walking the family border collie, Oscar, or trying a new recipe to share with friends and family.
2. Since starting a family, she and her husband have rarely missed an opportunity to bring their boys to the Milton Santa Claus Parade – it has become a wonderful tradition with family and friends.
3. Despite a busy work and family life, Katie loves to read and is always looking for suggestions for her next book!

Katie believes that philanthropy plays a critical role in ensuring that patients have access to healthcare within their local community. She says “Navigating the healthcare system can feel overwhelming at times. The idea of seeking medical care outside of our community can add an extra layer of stress, making those tough moments even tougher.

”Katie takes on the role of Executive Director from Helen Vatistas, who retired in December after leading the Foundation for over fifteen years. Helen’s legacy will be felt by our patients for generations to come.
Amidst this transition, Katie has expressed her deep appreciation for the outpouring of support which rejects the community spirit that makes MDHF truly special. She says, “Your warmth is not just a welcome but a powerful affirmation of our shared commitment to making a positive impact – your support is the cornerstone of our success.”
