Milton’s annual “Coldest Night of the Year” a family friendly walk in support of Milton Transitional Housing (MTH) occurred on February 24th. The walk is in support of Milton Transitional Housing (mthmilton.ca). Milton Transitional Housing provides safe, subsidized transitional housing to individuals and families in crisis – while providing the support & resources needed to help families improve their current situations and graduate to independent living.

Miltonians came together to team up, fundraise, volunteer, walk, and take a moment to look closer… because it’s cold out there and now more than
ever people need our help. The walk consisted of 224 walkers, 29 teams and 76 volunteers and together raised $71,956.

Donna Danielli and Colin Best, MTH committee members spoke to the teams at the launch of the walk. “We have 25 volunteers along the route, both 2k and 5k, we also have 2 rest stops at the half way marks for both of them, where we have water and granola bars and when you come back we have soup and also dessert” said Colin Best.

I know you all want to get walking, so I’m going to hand this off to our own dancing queen, Pat Grisoni and Raheem the Dream, and they are going to walk to the front and lead you out and when you get back I’ll be here to cheer you on. Congratulations on everything you’ve done so far” added Donna.
