Premier Ford in July 2020 in Milton said “I am not in favour of (the Campbellville quarry). I believe in governing for the people. And when the people don’t want something you don’t do it. It’s very simple. I know the Mayor doesn’t want it, no one wants it. I don’t want it. We are going to make sure It doesn’t happen one way or another”.
If the quarry application is approved over 990,000 tonnes per year of aggregate could be mined using underwater blasting potentially allowing surface toxins to contaminate groundwater which could impact Kelso wells that bring water to approx.. 20,000 Miltonians.

Emissions from blasting will impact local air quality, in addition to impacting wildlife and wetlands. Flying rock from blasting could cause damage and/or personal injury as the quarry site is just 100 m from the 401.
Milton currently receives over 6 Million dollars in annual revenue from the nearby Casino at Mohawk Raceway. There’s real concern that an active quarry will deter visitors and severely impact the town’s revenue and increasing the burden on taxpayers.

Please show your support and attend the ACTION Milton 7 pm, Wednesday, March 27th at the Country Heritage ParkGambrel Barn, 8560 Tremaine Road, Milton.
From ACTION Milton’s chair George Minakakis: “The community is asking Doug Ford to step in & intervene now because it’s absolutely not right for the community and they are the only body that can stop this quarry now!”
