Matador Eyeworks used its third anniversary to give back to the community. On December 16, 2017 they hosted a trunk show from Caroline Abraham and used it as an opportunity to give back to the Halton Women’s Place.
The spirit of generosity was on display as the Ontario New Democratic Party (NDP) Milton riding held its second annual toy drive led by the NDP youth. The event was held at the Milton Sports Centre December 16, 2017. The fundraiser was in support of the Halton Women’s Place.
Milton’s Muslim community gathered at the Islamic Community Centre- Milton (ICCM) for a fundraiser to help the Rohingya people Sunday December 17. The event was organized by the Muslim Children of North America (MCNA).
November marked Hindu Heritage Month in the province of Ontario. On November 11, Hindus from the Milton area gathered at Lions’ Club Hall to celebrate their heritage, and mark an end to Diwali; the Hindu festival of lights.
Dufferin Aggregates marked a milestone November 10th. The company announced a total of $1 million raised for Halton Healthcare Services through their drum campaign. The campaign has been a yearly event for the past 10 years.
The Milton Sports Hall of Fame grew by five new members on November 19th. It was a packed house that cheered two inductees into the builder, and athlete (athlete, and veteran athlete) categories, as well as one in the team category.
The pinkie fingers were up, the fascinators were fastened for the Townsend-Smith Foundation’s Annual High Tea. The third edition of the popular event took place September 24, 2017 at Seasons’ Retirement Community.
Masks, music, and dancing provided a Venetian backdrop as the Italian Canadian Club of Milton (ICCM) hosted its fifth annual Venetian Gala. This year’s edition took place October 22, 2017 at Granite Ridge Golf Club.
Diwali is a five-day Hindu festival of lights symbolizing the triumph of good over evil, and marking good beginnings. On October 8, Milton’s Hindu community gathered at the Milton Sports Centre for a cultural program.
