Please stand with us NOW against the proposed CN Milton Logistics Hub (inter-modal terminal) planned for Britannia and Tremaine Roads (and flanked by Lower Base Line). This massive, 400-acre, heavy-industrial facility will add 1,600 transport trucks PER DAY to our roads and does not belong in this proposed location.
The beginnin Artists group owes a lot to happenstance as local artists g of the Escarpment came together to lend their creative talents to the Rotary Clubs ‘Camel Race’ fundraiser back in 2013.
“We had a really fun time together,” says Diana Tuszynski, artist and business owner, “so why don’t we take this group and do something with it. We decided it would be fun to show together, as it would be an efficient use of our time as well as to pool our resources.”
The Conservation Halton Foundation Gala is held to raise funds for projects and programs that protect the natural areas in our watershed, create opportunities to connect with nature, educate our children about the environment and inspire stewardship in our communities.
Teachers at Milton District High School have been recognized with a national award for their innovative delivery of environmental sustainability curriculum in the school’s ‘I-Th ink about Science’ program. Presented by the EdCan Network, the 2019 Ken Spencer Award for Innovation in Teaching and Learning showcases the work of teachers who create relevant learning experiences for students while solving complex societal issues.
Milton Muslim Moms, along with its community partners, was proud to host the first interfaith iftaar for the Milton community on May 15th at the Milton Fairgrounds. The goal of this event was to bring people of all backgrounds together to promote unity. Many community religious leaders along with the honorable Member of Parliament Lisa Raitt and members of Milton Town Council were in attendance.
May 4, 2019 kicked off another spring clean-up in the town of Milton as part of the 27th Annual Good Neighbours Community Day. As always, dismal grey weather did not deter over 1000 people from congregating at Milton’s Town
Hall on Mary Street and contributing to the event’s best turn-out yet.
The rafters were ringing at the Country Heritage Park Gambrel Barn on the moonlit Saturday night of April 27th as the 6th Denim and Diamonds Gala presented by the Milton Rotary Club was in the house!
The goal was to have some serious fun with participants showing off their country roots, boots, and line dancing skills. Rebecca Hunter, Milton Rotary President observed, “It’s not formal and people enter relaxed from the get-go. I think they have fun cracking out their cowboy hats and there’s no having to coax people onto the dance floor, that’s for sure!”
For six exciting hours the “Winning for Health” Milton District Hospital Foundation Gift of Health Gala became Las Vegas North on Saturday, May 4th at the Burlington Convention Centre in Burlington. The theme for the campaign was inspired by Rosanna Conteduca, Chair of the Milton District Hospital Foundation Gala Committee. Vanessa Briguglio, Major Gifts and Community Engagement Officer, shared that “bringing the Las Vegas theme to life was six months in the making.”
