The annual Golf Tournament and Dinner started off by a record 2-day sell out of tickets that occurred in late March. It then ended with a record raising amount of $210,000 on Thursday June 29th at the 8th annual ‘TEEING OFF for a MIRACLE’ charity golf tournament in support of families living in need.
“I am so grateful for the overwhelming support we have received and totally blown away by the record amount raised, which is a blessing from God and testament to the wonderfulindividuals that come out each and every year to participate”, says Tiger Jeet Singh Jr., President of TJSF. “My heartfelt appreciation to every volunteer, as this event would not be possible without their efforts!”
The day included a historic announcement with Police Chief Nish (Nishan Duraiappah) of Peel along with Halton Police announcing a new partnership both police forces have with Miracle on Main. What started as a Toy Drive many years ago at Milton’s Best Western has grown in leaps and bounds. From being originally a Milton only event, to now being a Milton/Brampton event to announced tonight the branching out in the future in more cities across Canada
Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the purchase of toys and essential items for families experiencing hardship. Items are disbursed through partnerships with the Salvation Army; Halton Women’s Place; children admitted over the holidays at SickKids and McMaster Children’s Hospital; supporting local school initiatives such as mental health, breakfast programs, literacy and inclusive classrooms; and supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Peel.
