April is Sikh Heritage month in Milton where we officially recognize the rich heritage and culture that the Sikh community brings.
All across Canada and the world Sikhs celebrate Vaisakhi (also known as Khalsa day) which signifies the creation of the Khalsa and the Sikh articles of faith. On Monday April 4th members of the Sikh Community and friends gathered at Milton Town Hall where the Mayor read the official proclamation while honoring the Sikh flag raising.
Thank you Gurmail S Saggu for the kind invitation and the contributions you do every year in Milton. I greatly enjoy the friendship and hospitality I’m always greeted with when meeting with all members of the Sikh community. There is frequently good conversations while enjoying a cup of Chai and some sweet treats.
Looking forward to an additional get together on the last Saturday of the month (April 30th) outside Town Hall where there will be a final gathering of community members to help celebrate Sikh Heritage Month.
