April is Sikh Heritage month and the Town of Milton officially recognized the month with a proclamation and flag raising at Milton Town Hall.
Sikh Heritage Month is the perfect opportunity to show honour to the growing and vibrant Sikh Community in Milton. The Sikh community has made significant contributions to the growth of Milton and its prosperity, and will continue to do so.
Sikhs all over Canada and internationally come together to celebrate Vaisakhi in April also known as Khalsa Day, signifying the creation of the Khalsa and the Sikh articles of faith.
“By proclaiming the month of April as Sikh Heritage Month, the Town of Milton recognizes the important contributions Sikhs have made to the Milton community, economy, political and ethnic fabric” said Mayor Krantz in his proclamation for the Town.
