The Milton Council of the Knights of Columbus is once again hosting Milton’s Valentine Dinner and Dance on Saturday February 15th at Granite Ridge Golf Club in Milton. The Valentine’s Gala is dedicated to supporting the Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF). This annual event is not only a celebration of love and community, but also a meaningful way to contribute to a cause that will impact many lives.

Established in 2012, the Townsend Smith Foundation is on a mission to build the first residential hospice in North Halton. A vital resource for our community, hospice care provides comfort and compassionate support to those at the end of their lives. It blends medical care with the warmth of a homelike environment, improving the quality of life for individuals with a life expectancy of three months or less, and offering much-needed support to their families. Emil Matacz of the Knight of Columbus says, “Hospice is about more than just care — it’s about dignity, comfort, and ensuring no one faces the end of life alone.”

Such an important project requires time, effort, and community collaboration. A dedicated group of volunteers is working tirelessly to bring this dream to life, and thanks to their efforts, a site for the first residential hospice has been secured. Located at Trafalgar Road and 5 Side Road, the future hospice will be built on the land where Hillcrest United Church currently stands.

Every step forward brings us closer to making this essential facility a reality. But we need your help! Join us on this exciting journey — your support can make all the difference. Mark your calendars and be part of something special: We invite you to a memorable evening of great food, lively music, door prizes, and an exciting silent auction. This is your chance to enjoy an unforgettable night out, while helping to make a lasting impact on the community.
