Earlier this year, the Government of Ontario passed Bill 45, “An Act to Proclaim Ontario Cadets Week” into law on April 11, 2022. To be celebrated on the first week of October of every year, Ontario cadets Week is an opportunity for the people of Ontario to “honour the outstanding young Canadians whose unique personal and collective development through cadet programs will help them be successful in Canadian society, as well as recognizing those who support the programs directly and indirectly.”

The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps CHAUDIERE, also known as Milton Sea Cadets, one of the 3 Cadet units in Milton, represented our town at the official launch of Ontario Cadets Week at the Provincial Legislature, in Toronto. Dressed in their finest uniforms, the cadets participated in a parade composed of cadets from all over Ontario and all 3 elements of the cadet program, the Sea, Army and Air Cadets. The parade was reviewed by the Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell. Also honouring our cadets were the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant-General Frances Allen, Brigadier-General Jamie Speiser- Blanchet, Commander National Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers.

Milton Sea Cadets (RCSCC CHAUDIERE) offers a cadet program free of charge for youth ages 12 to 19. They meet weekly, every Wednesday evening from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the Milton Fairgrounds.
