Pack a Bag for a Friend with the help of volunteers and drivers from the community delivered backpacks and Christmas hampers on Saturday December 18th. The weather was challenging but our drivers were able to overcome the snowy roads.

Pack a Bag for a Friend’s mission is to help those in need at Christmas. Each back packs contains pajamas, an age appropriate toy, hats, mitts, socks, books, toiletries, etc. Our drivers delivered 410 Christmas hampers and backpacks to the Food4Kids children and families in Milton, Acton, Georgetown, Oakville, and Burlington, plus additional families assisted by local organizations. Each Christmas hamper contained a turkey or halal chickens, potatoes, vegetables, dessert, and milk, and gave the families an opportunity to prepare a Christmas dinner.

It was drivers who gave up their time, who were able to make this a success. The opportunity to be able to give was what brought a big smile to our volunteer drivers. As their drivers cars were loaded with the backpacks for the children, and the Christmas hamper for the family, they were amazed on what was being loaded to be delivered. As they drove on their route, they could feel the spirit of giving. They were overwhelmed when they arrived at the addresses on their route, and were met with excited children and parents. As they passed out the backpacks and Christmas hamper then they were able to pass on their spirit of giving.
