In Milton, devotees from GTA celebrated Ganesh Visarjan 2023 with great fervor. On the tenth day of Ganesh Festival, they bid adieu to Lord Ganesha, the revered God of wisdom and remover of obstacles. Organized by Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS) and Milton Marathi Group (MMG), the event took place at Milton Sports Centre with the theme of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” and “Save the Earth”.Families brought Ganesha Idols, parading them in a decorated carriage accompanied by lively drumbeats of Zunzar Dhol Tasha Pathak.
Saffron flags waved high, setting a joyous tone as devotees and onlookers enjoyed Lezhim and Garba performances. The sky turned saron, echoing the spirit of devotion. Environmental consciousness was emphasized with ‘Save the Earth’ posters, urging eco-friendly celebrations. Cultural performances from dierent Indian states Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Bengal showcased unity in diversity, echoing the motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (The world is one family). It was a unique glimpse of ‘Bharat Darshan’ (tour of India).
As the day concluded, devotees offered prayers and received blessings from Ganpati Bappa, sharing warm Prasadam meals. The event fostered a profound sense of unity among the attendees, making it a memorable Ganesh Visarjan.
