Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a winter-rific family-friendly walk to raise money for Milton Transitional Housing. It’s cold out there…

Over $90,000 was raised this year for 9th Annual CNOY Milton event which is a new record amount. The top 4 teams being #miltonstrong ($15,613), CFUW Milton & District ($8295), Faith United ($8110) and Italian Cultural Centre of Milton ($6975).

The #miltonstrong team is a new addition to the event raising the most money this year. They were also the most coordinated team with the blue sweaters showing both Coldest Night Logo and Milton Strong logo. You can partially see it here but they were all wearing it.

Donna Danielli, event organizer & Executive Director for Milton Transitional housing spoke to the crowds before the groups started their walk.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude to every single one of you. We’ve raised $95,000 last time I checked. That is so many people that will now have a roof over their heads, mental health support, addiction support, employment support and will help with groceries and school supplies and so much more. Thank you Thank you Thank you from the bottom of my heart”.

“In the 9 years we’ve been doing this we’ve lifted 40 adults and 30 children out of homelessness. That will no longer have to worry where they are going to sleep, where they are going to go to school the next day, how they are going to eat. That’s thanks to you”.

“The Milton Transitional Housing’s Coldest Night of the Year fundraising walk was a terrific success exceeding our goals” said volunteer Colin Best.

“Thanks for all the organizers and volunteers for making it possible to continue our work through the year” continued Colin.
