Canada Day has always held a special place in the heart of Miltonians. For over a quarter of a century the Town has come together at the Milton Fairgrounds to celebrate our country’s birthday. The history of this celebration is interwoven with the support of many current and past community groups. While our Canada Day celebration has many public and private sponsors, many Miltonian’s don’t realize it’s entirely run and organized by the Halton Agricultural Society, with the support of dedicated community volunteers and private groups. The Halton Agricultural Society is thankful to be able to continue bringing this annual event to the community, with many memorable past Canada Day celebrations hosted by the now dissolved Milton Canada Day Committee.

Organizing this annual event is no easy feat. Planning for the festivities begins in October of each year for the July 1st event the following year. According to police estimates, when it’s sunny, Canada Day in Milton
sees an average of over 30 thousand visitors from morning till night.

All of Milton is welcome to this free event (although donations are greatly appreciated and welcome at the gates towards future years events) and for us to gather in celebrating both Canada and our shared history. Please remember to thank the volunteers, sponsors and committee members who come together to make this celebration possible.

Event highlights include amusement rides, inflatables, live entertainment and music shows, beer tent, free Canada Day cake, as well as many food vendors, arts & crafts, the ever popular children’s sand pile and of course fireworks shortly after dusk.
