Milton is adding street parking exceptions and parking ticket payment features to the myMILTON mobile app, placing parking in the palm of your hand.

If residents, their guests or contractors need to park on the street in excess of five hours or overnight between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., they can now register their parking exception through the mobile app, up to a maximum of 18 street parking exceptions per plate per year. Paying a parking ticket is now also more convenient by using the app instead of needing to access a computer or visit Town Hall. Recent upgrades to the Town’s parking systems software have also contributed to an improved online experience on the Town’s website.

Since the app was first released in early July 2017, over 6,000 unique users have downloaded the app, with total page views surpassing 180,800. The most popular app feature is the drop-in schedules, accounting for 37.1% of the app usage, followed by news (13.2%) and events (11.7%).

The app also features a click and fix photo tool to report and submit service requests, such as traffic light outages, graffiti incidents and by-law issues. Additional features include access to the Milton Public Library catalogue, a transit trip planner and Halton Region’s waste schedule.

The myMILTON mobile app is available through the iTunes and Google Play stores. More information and links to download the app can be found at www.milton.ca/myMILTON.
