The Islamic Circle of North America Canada (ICNA-C) Milton Chapter organized an interfaith dinner for local community and faith leaders on Friday May 12 at Paramount Fine Foods. The dinner provided an opportunity to faith and community leaders to come together and build bonds of friendship and understanding.
MP Adam van Koeverden, Mayor Gordon Krantz, AMO President Colin Best, other regional and town councillors attended the event. Representatives of different churches also participated including Grace Anglican Church, Centre of Life Church, St George and St Abanoub Coptic Church, Saturate Church, The House of David, and Church Planting Ministries Inc.
An open dialogue was held about what the Muslim community can do for the betterment of Milton. The participants thanked ICNA Milton for the event and emphasized the need for working collaboratively on common issues that impact different faith communities. They suggested holding more such Photos by Denise Cooperwhite & Rick Di Lorenzo events to build working relationships among different community organizations and faith groups.
Vice President ICNA Canada Yahya Mansoori thanked everyone for their participation. He shared the vision of ICNA Canada which is to build an exemplary Muslim Canadian community that sets path towards personal excellence in faith, worship and morality, and contribute towards various charitable and relief services both in Canada and abroad. He called for greater interaction among different faith communities to know each other better and to work on common issues that impact us all.
