Bradi McCoy is a bright, bubbly, enthusiastic 22-year-old young woman from Milton and is well loved in the community. For many years she has shared her talents with the Town of Milton in the I-CAN special needs programs, and in various leadership roles in aquatics and recreation. Bradi is currently an EA with the Halton District School Board and her dream is to become a teacher.
On March 9th of this year Bradi was the victim of a devastating acid attack near her home. She has suffered life-altering injuries and will have a long recovery period.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started to raise money for recovery and future medical needs ( https://www.gofundme.com/f/gpd9g-help-for-milton-assault-victim )
On April 14th Rad Brothers Sports Bar and Tap House was the location of a local fundraiser where the Milton community came out to show an outpouring of love and support for Bradi and her family and to also raise money for her long term recovery and support. There was an overwhelming turn out of fantastic raffle prizes, so much that raffle tickets themselves sold out before the nights end.
After the fundraiser on May 14th Bradi gave the community a below updat on her recovery.
“Thank you everyone for all the support. The love and positivity from everyone has helped carry me through my journey.
I left Sunnybrook Hospital Burn Unit last Thursday and I am currently at Sunnybrook St John’s Rehab Hospital. I am excited to start my therapy. I know it’s going to be intense and quite hard at certain points, but I’m going to grind through so that I will be able to hopefully have a “new normal” of a summer.
I appreciate all the comments and I am sorry if I haven’t been able to reply to all of them, it has been overwhelming, and I am slowly making my way through all of them.
Thank you everyone and happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers out there. Especially mine!
I love you Mom!! Hugs to everyone, Bradi”
