On September 14th in downtown Milton you may have spotted over 120 women in green running around. They were taking part in an “Amazing Race” type event that brough teams of women together in a fun and competitive environment. They were raising funds and awareness for Townsend Smith Foundation’s goal of building a local hospice.
The teams consisting of 4 women each competed in challenged scattered around Milton that tested their physical capacity, intellectual competence and their ability to work together as a team. Clues were given to each team that would then lead them to each subsequent challenge.
“We are super excited to share that this year’s HerQuest for Hospice Race has raised a total of $55,381. We want to thank all the racers, sponsors, businesses, everyone who was part of this race. We couldn’t have Race in Milton by Rick Di Lorenzo done it without any of you and we love each and everyone of you. This money will go to the Townsend Smith Foundation to help build a hospice in North Halton. Thank you, thank you, thank you.” Said Deborah Bernardino, HerQuest for Hospice organizer.
