The 41st Annual Strawberry Fair will take place on Saturday, June 24th at the Milton Fairgrounds. This event is organized by the Milton District Hospital Auxiliary which represents the more than 350 volunteers at Milton District Hospital. June Rushak leads a team of dedicated and committed volunteers in organizing this event each year. Thanks to this incredible group of volunteers both past and present, and our generous community of sponsors and supporters, the Strawberry Fair has become a long-standing tradition and a successful fundraiser with all proceeds being directed to Milton District Hospital.
Admission is free and cash donations are gratefully accepted at the entrance. All of our food, drink, and fundraising stations only accept CASH so please plan ahead as there are no bank machines on the fairgrounds site. Free parking is available at the Fairgrounds however please be courteous of our volunteer parking and gate attendants.
The day kicks off with a Strawberry and Pancake Breakfast graciously supported by the Optimist Club of Milton. Breakfast is $5 per person and will be available while supplies last. Later on in the day, the Optimists will be serving up a BBQ Lunch with Hot Dogs and Hamburgers available. Drink stations are close by with coffee, tea, bottled water, and soft drinks available for purchase.
Our Strawberry Tent is available all day with volunteers serving up fresh strawberries, ice cream, and cake. The Milton District Hospital Foundation and their volunteers graciously support our Slushie Station in the Strawberry Tent.
Our Stage, beautifully decorated by Sheila Stuart and her team of volunteers, is hosted by MC, Rockin’ Rob Hewlett and features Live Local Entertainment and Demonstrations all day.
Our Children’s Play Area will once again feature a Sand Pile, Fish Pond, Teddy Bear Adoption Tent, Pay to Play Bouncy Castles, and crafts for the kids while supplies last. The Milton Fire Department and St. John’s Ambulance will also return, along with Ice Cream 4 U. Halton Regional Police will also be in attendance. We will have a new activity station graciously supported by the Milton Community Resource Centre who we are partnering with this year, to have our event serve as a starting point and end point for the ‘All 4 Her’ Walk, raising much needed funds for their Girls Empowerment Programs.
