A Celebration of Halton Community Spirit: The 14th Annual MAM BBQ
Muslim Association of Milton (MAM) held its 14th Annual Community BBQ on July 20, 2024 at Halton Islamic Community Centre (HICC), Located on 4269 Regional Road 25, Oakville, Ontario. It was a day where the scent of grilled delicacies mingled with the sounds of joyous laughter and heartfelt conversations, creating an atmosphere
ofunity and celebration.
A highlight of the event wasthe presentation of our charitable donations, reflecting the essence of our community’s generosity. We proudly handed out two separate $5,000 cheques to the Milton District Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. These donations will aid in supporting vitalhealthcare services in our region.
Additionally, six $1,000 cheques were presented to local food banks and women’s assistance organizations, ensuring that the spirit of giving extends beyond our event and supports those in needwithinour community. The success of this year’s BBQ was not merely a result of excellent weather or delectable food, but rather the culmination of the incredible efforts from so many dedicated individuals. Oursponsors played an indispensable role in this success. Their generous contributions were the lifeblood of the event, making it possible for us to come together and celebrate asone. A heartfelt thank you is also owed to our dignitaries, whose presence at the event was a testament to their commitment to our community’s growth and unity. Your participation and encouragement inspired us all and added a special touchtothe festivities. Behind the scenes, the real heroes were our volunteers and staff, who had been working diligently for months. Their boundless enthusiasm and dedication ensured that every detail was meticulously handled. From the early preparations to the final clean-up, their efforts were crucial in
orchestrating a flawless event. May Allah reward eachof youfor yourselfless contributions.
Asthe evening ended, the smiles and satisfaction on everyone’s faces were a testament to the success of the BBQ. We left with full hearts and bellies, eager to return for future events, InshaAllah. The success of this event was a
