On Saturday November 16th the Milton Muslim Moms and Benevolence Canada held a Fundraising Gala Dinner for United Way Halton & Hamilton to help eliminate poverty. The dinner highlighted the generosity and dedication of the sponsors, donors, guests and volunteers who all contributed to ensure the evening was a great success.

Every year Milton Muslim Moms chooses 4 exceptional people from our community that have shown excellence in four award categories. Members nominate their favourites and the panel of judges help award who is most deserving. Congratulations to four award recipients this year who were highlighted at the dinner and presented with recognition in the following for their contributions.

Woman of Substance – Rohma Warsi She, The Talent – Iram Abid Entrepreneur Of The Year – Dr. Sarwat Kamra Youth Leadership – Shanzeh Khan Milton Muslim Moms President Maliha Khan Ahmed had some words of thanks for the people who helped her make the night such a sucess. “It has been a blessing and privilege to have such a dynamic group of people as volunteers – Sana Mir, Iram Saeed, Sarwat Kamran, Rabia Ahsan, Aaisya Fawad, Nida Aman, Saima Shad, Zubia Khan.”
The generous donations towards the fundraiser went a long way to helping end poverty in Halton and beyond. IIn total the event helped raise $5000 to combat poverty.
