Dozens of local and international artists, business and community leaders packed the Milton Holiday Inn on August 21st to raise much needed funds for the Sahara Cancer Hospital in a remote area of Pakistan.

The Sahara fundraiser was the second event in Milton to raise funds for this initiative during the summer. On August 17th the Multicultural Azadi Festival included international musical artist Abrar Ul Haq who is also the founder and chairman of the Sahara for Life Trust foundation which is sponsoring the hospital in Narowal, Pakistan.

On the Buses, on Milton Transit Appreciation Day, Mayor Gordon Krantz and Transit Manager Tony D’Alessandro travelled with the regular passengers who were asked for any comments about the buses. There were no negative comments. There were some suggestions to use a Presto card or eventually have fares available online. Many asserted that they were very happy with the service and could always depend on it. All the bus routes go back to the Go Station. There is one Transfer from one bus to another. A passenger suggested that there could perhaps be a 2 hour extension to transfers, to enable more flexibility.
