Milton Bishop Reding (BR) Catholic Secondary School raised a stunning $133,856.13 on May 8th for the Milton Relay For Life. The money raised will help fund world-class cancer research in Canada as well as advocacy and compassionate support. This year BR raised the highest amount in all of Ontario.

 

 

 

 

 

“I stand here today, sharing my story with you. I’m truly fortunate to have never experienced a relapse or the return of cancer. And it’s as of July 10th this year, I’m proud to be celebrating 40 years of cancer free survival and it’s because of people like you! Your participation in Relay for Life makes a difference!” – Sharmila Taki, Cancer Survivor; Opening Ceremony.

“Young people are often told they cannot make a significant impact on the world, but our Relay for Life’s fundraising is incredible proof that we can accomplish remarkable things when we work together!” said student organizer Mariyam Masood at the closing ceremony.

 

 

 

 

 

Special recognition to “Team Tiki” who were the highest Milton BR team comprised of Taya Milisa, Cameron Pittman, Teagan Murphy, Claire Fedrigo and Christie Ramsook. Top Personal Fundraising recognitions were also given to 1st Highest Taya Milisa ($5051.89 and Eshal Faraz ($4891.74).
