Milton Muslim Moms recently hosted a powerful Fundraiser and Awards Night, uniting residents, community leaders, and partners for an evening of compassion and celebration. The event raised critical funds to support food security, newcomer assistance, and youth empowerment programs across Milton and Halton.

The keynote address by Founder and CEO Maliha Khan Ahmed, shared a sobering reminder of the local challenges:

“According to recent data, over 10% of residents in Halton live below the poverty line. In Milton alone, despite being one of the fastest-growing communities in Canada, child poverty rates exceed 12% in some neighborhoods. That’s one in every eight children growing up without enough food and afford only a meal a day.”
