Meet Our Inspiring Speakers
Hon. Dr. Jean Augustine
A trailblazing leader and champion of diversity and inclusion, Dr. Augustine was the first African-Canadian woman elected to the House of Commons in 1993. Her numerous honorary Doctor of Laws degrees and extensive recognition underscore her commitment to public service and social justice.
Gimma R. Stacey Laforme
A respected leader and advocate for climate action, Chief Laforme will share his unique perspective on critical issues like climate change. As he aptly notes, “Instead of thinking of climate change as a problem,” we must work together to find solutions and create a more sustainable future.
Adam van Koeverden
A decorated athlete, outspoken philanthropist, and Liberal MP for Milton, Adam embodies the spirit of service and leadership. As the Olympic flag-bearer, he has inspired countless individuals with his dedication and perseverance. Adam will share his insights on how we can work together to build a more inclusive and equitable community.
Brian Rusch
A passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion, Brian has been a driving force for change within Rotary. As a Rotary Youth Exchange student to Brazil and a member of the Rotary Club of Hollywood, California, Brian helped charter the San Francisco Castro Rotary, Rotary’s first LGBTQ+ cultured club. He will share his experiences and insights on promoting diversity and inclusion within our communities.
