November 17th marked the 2019 Milton Santa Claus Parade. The streets were crowded with parade goers over an hour before the parade was set to begin. This year was special as Colonel Chris Hadfield joined his parents and Mayor Krantz in the Lead Car at the start of the Parade. Residents were thrilled to see Col. Hadfield who spent significant amount of time talking and meeting with people both at the start and end of the Parade.

The parade this year was truly one for the record books. Great weather partnered by an great turn out helped feed the energy of the Parade volunteers. Every other float involved music, marching or dancers, and the community support was clear as the sponsors file by. The crowd moved up and down to the beat of drums from the various bands that took part. Dancers and gymnasts bounded through the streets and performed to applause. Participants included The Dance Element, Milton Springers, The Dance Class and Dance Elite.

Parade President Michael Vertolli has this to say, “It’s an 11 month volunteer job. Which makes it extremely heartwarming to see all the parents & kids enjoying the parade. The volunteers and committee members should be commended for a job well done. Without them we could not have a successful parade.”

Volunteer Samantha Attew echoed Vertolli’s remarks. “It takes a lot of hard work & dedication by the committee to put this on” said Attew. She hopes that more people will step up to volunteer to keep this tradition going on.
The 2019 Milton Santa Claus Parade Committee included Michael Vertolli, Liane LaBarbera, Tyson Hewynen.
