The Compassion Classic Charitable Golf Tournament is an important annual fundraising event organized by
volunteers to support the Townsend Smith Foundation (TSF). As an organization, TSF is working towards
building a residential hospice. The hospice will provide a calm, peaceful, home-like environment where
individuals with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.

Ryan Haydar and his committee members along with volunteers prepared a fantastic day of lunch, silent
auction, raffles and later Board Chair Astrid Lakats along with new Executive Director Kim Kohlberger were on hand to thank the Tournament committee along with the many volunteers, sponsors, donors and participants. Other Townsend members and volunteers include Kristina Tesser Derksen, Lee Gould, Marg Saliba and Rick Di Lorenzo.
“Putting on a tournament such as the Compassion Classic takes a village we have worked hard to make it an experience for our guests so they want to return, it’s not just a golf tournament it’s an experience. The generosity from those in our community and our trusted partners shows just how strong our community is. We don’t have
the numbers just yet but we hope to have raised similar to 2023” said Ryan Haydar, cochair along with Jeff Jansen.
