Last Saturday at the Milton Soccer Dome there was a Gujarat Day Celebration organized by the Art & Cultural Exchange Society of Canada in conjunction with SPANDANKALA.
Reena Shah, both a judge at the event and organizer had this to say – “We are so thankful and would like to show our gratitude to each and everyone who joined, the attendees and huge crowd all helped make this happen.” Gujarat Day is celebrated on May 1st every year, marks the formation of the state of Gujarat on May 1st, 1960.
It’s a day for the people of Gujarat to celebrate their rich heritage, vibrant culture, and remarkable achievements In Milton the celebration included Garba-Raas Competition, Cultural Performances/Singing, Free Garba Workshop, Live Mahendi Counter, Beautiful Art & Jewellery Vendors, Delicious Food Vendors and live music & dancing.
