Lil’ Rockers in Milton takes a fresh approach to introduce children 5 and under to music and movement. The program features a unique playlist making classes engaging and fun for parents, caregivers and children alike. Ranging from pop to rock to the classics, you will hear music from artists like The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Queen, Van Halen, David Bowie, Katie Perry and Adele!
Lil’ Rockers’ music curriculum is developed in line with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s Pedagogy for the Early Years by Early Childhood Educators. The innovative programming encourages developmentally appropriate discovery, creativity, and a playbased approach to learning. Lil’ Rockers classes stimulate musical development, as well as nurture cognitive, language, physical, emotional, and social development. Instructors for the Lil’ Rockers program have a diverse professional background, including musical expertise and training as well as a great deal of experience working with children.
Classes are divided into 3 age groups. The Wah Wahs, for little ones 0 – 12 months, the Whammies for ages 1 to 3 and the Riffs for 3 to 5 year olds. There’s also a Family Band class which is a mixed curriculum class for families that have more than one child under 5.
Classes are offered in 8-week sessions and each class is 45 minutes long, with a focus on vocal development, creative movement, foundational music concepts, ensemble, listening, instrument play and literacy
Lil’ Rockers is conveniently located inside the House of Chords – Music Centre at 723 Main St. E. in Milton.
