This past sunny Saturday morning, a few members of the Milton community got together for a Milton Historical Society meeting. Members greeted each other, happy to reunite in each other’s presence. They shared some coffee and some delicious peanut butter cookies while waiting for the meeting to start.

Members were asked to pin down their residential location as an introductory activity to the Milton Streets roundtable discussion. The meeting was an enriching learning experience about Milton’s historical past and the importance some historic streets like Main St. had on Milton’s growth as a town.

By the end all members tracked down the origin of their street names amongst other main streets like James Snow Parkway.

There are over 270 street names in Milton, all of which you can learn more about in the “Milton Streets” book, available in the Milton Historical Society Archives on Wednesday or Saturday mornings.
