Milton Transitional Housing kicked off their 2019 fundraising campaign on Jan 26th with their Coldest Night of the Year Launch Party to help spread the word of their upcoming CNOY Milton walk on Feb 23rd at the Milton Sports Centre. MTH has set an ambitious goal this year of $50,000 to help continue their work to end homelessness in our community and were happy to announce that they had reached 25% of their goal by the launch event – with 25 teams, 78 walkers, and 38 volunteers (so far).

The Coldest Night of the Year is a national walk with a great reputation of being a fun, family friendly event that makes a real difference in its host communities. Route options include a 2K, 5K, and 10K route – with a $25 registration fee per walker. Refreshments and hot soup will be served post-walk, and every walker will receive an official CNOY 2019 toque! Milton Transitional Housing acts as host for the event, with 75% of all funds going directly to the local charity to run their housing program.

“Milton Transitional Housing is focused on one thing – providing housing and resources to those in crisis in our community. CNOY helps provided much-needed funds to run our program and we are forever grateful to our sponsors, donors, and supporters who come out to support us year after year. Join us by sponsoring, starting a team, or donating today!

CNOY Walk Director and MTH Vice Chair, John Pollard spent much of the event (along with his organizing team & fellow board members) personally thanking team leaders and walkers for their contributions – encouraging them to help spread the word to make CNOY 2019 their most successful walk to date. The official walk will take place in the banquet room of the Milton Sports Centre on February 23rd in Milton. Registration opens at 4PM with the opening ceremonies kicking off at 5PM.

The MTH team also took the opportunity to officially launch their new website to the Milton community at the CNOY launch event, with the goal of encouraging more, regular donors to help fund their program directly – as well as to make it easier to get in touch, find resources, and stay up-to-date with all relevant reports and updates; including their recently released 2018 Annual Report.

MTH is encouraging team leaders to start their CNOY 2019 teams this week and start fundraising to help reach their goal by the Feb 23rd walk.
