Rashmi and Shailesh Gangwani open up Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s Khazana in Canada. October 11, 2017 marks the official launch of Milton – Khazana by Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, although the restaurant started its operations upon soft launch earlier in the year on May 1, 2017. The official launch event; VIP RECEPTION DINNER AND MEDIA LAUNCH was held on Wednesday Oct 11, 2017. A grand dinner reception was hosted by the Gangwani’s at the restaurant, located at 1185 Maple Avenue Milton, that was attended by Milton’s Mayor, Gordon Krantz, Member Provincial Party (MPP) Halton, Ms. Indira Naidoo Harris, Mayor of Markham Frank Scarpitti, Peel Police Board Chair Mr. Amrik Ahliwalia, the councillors of Milton; Zeeshan Hamid, Robert Duvall, Arnold Huffman, along with Ms. Andrea Cayer, Manager, Development and Major Gifts Milton District Hospital Foundation, and other invited guest including the CEOs and Executive from offices of Milton Centre of the Arts, Milton District Hospital Foundation, Milton Chambers of Commerce and more. The event was sprawled by the members of diverse media community from television, print and radio segments. Jake Dheer, a prominent community comrade who is a Senior Manager at Rogers and OMNI TV was a fellow host and honoured by being the MC of the VIP RECEPTION DINNER AND MEDIA LAUNCH on Wednesday Oct 11, 2017.
Host city’s Mayor, Gordon Krantz, MPP – Halton region, Ms. Indira Naidoo, Mayor of Markham Frank Scarpiti and Peel Police Board Chair Mr. Amrik Ahliwalia were a part of ribbon cutting and the traditional lamp lighting amidst chants and mantras echoed by all present. Shailesh and Rashmi Gangwani, along with their son Shreyas and daughter Udita were humbled and elated with the response to their beautiful restaurant. The presentations were in the order of the launch speeches by the mayor and other distinguished guests, followed by the facilitation video of Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s exceptional journey into the culinary world – the story of a young ambitions teenager turned in the Culinary King, the MasterChef Sanjeev Kapoor!
Upon asking the couple why did they choose Milton, Shailesh and Rashmi said “ we chose to open the restaurant in the town of Milton mainly because of three reasons, first, it’s the fastest growing city in Canada; second, Milton is known for residents with excellent life choices and lifestyle which means that they love to venture out as foodies; third, Milton is centrally located and is well connected to all major highways and hence is accessible to populations from across Oakville, Burlington, Mississauga, Georgetown, Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph; “our guests come from all of these major towns, it’s heartening to know that people travel from all over Southern Ontario and the US to especially dine-in at Chef Sanjeev Kapoor’s KHAZANA – MILTON”.
