October 16th outside the Home Depot Plaza marked the 9th edition of Game On Street Hockey Tournament which has raised over $27,000 for the Reach out Centre for Kids (ROCK).

The weather listened to the Mayor of Milton and the rain didn’t come! All day long both kids and adults were having a blast. This was marked the return of the physical in-person event (last year was virtual) and it was held in a controlled environment where attendees had to show proof of vaccination at the entrance before being admitted. MC Chris Mei helped officiate the event and kept the energy going throughout the day.

You could say that softball is in her blood. From when she was in diapers, Sydney Teague has been getting dirty on the softball field…and there is no place she would rather be.

The 13 year old Milton slugger and her teammates on the 2008 birth year Brampton Blazers ‘08 fast pitch softball team recently captured Gold at the PWSA U14 – 2 Provincial Championships in Cambridge.

A series sweep in the semifinals over Port Perry ‘07, set up a best-of-three finals vs a strong Wilmot ‘07 team. Game one of the final series was a nail biter; a 2 – 1 last inning walk off win for Brampton.

Milton’s prestigious award of Youth Athlete of 2021 has been awarded to Ismail Hassan. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier Catholic School in Milton in June. Ismail helped

his school win the Halton Regional Championship and a triple-A OFSAA bronze medal in 2020.

Watching videos of his prowess on the basketball court, it is obvious that he is a sure force to reckon with in any game! He appears to have a keen ability to shoot and score! With over 500 hours for volunteering
